This is Marcus. He lost the use of his legs in a motorcycle accident 9 months prior to this photograph being taken. I met him in a boxing gym in Battersea. His mental strength astonished me. I wanted to visually champion the power of his mind in this portrait. I found the combination of a determined look with a pose celebrating his physical prowess not only did this, but it also quite literally overshadowed his chair. This is Marcus through and through - his chair is more a driving force than an obstruction.

Clapham Common, 2016. Once every 70 years the Summer Solstice (longest day of the year) coincides with a Strawberry Moon (a full moon in June that marks the beginning of the strawberry season). I noticed it hanging over Vauxhall bus station in all it's glory as I headed home on the 87 bus. When I got home I grabbed my camera and went straight back out. It was around midnight but I walked up to Clapham Common and spent about an hour admiring it's display. It was one of the most peaceful experiences I've ever had in this otherwise relentlessly chaotic city. I thought this image perfectly conveyed a sense of brief tranquility - a spot of beauty in the midst of darkness as a lone cloud momentarily passes through the frame.

Epping, 2015. Epping Forest? Just a bunch of trees mate. Well, kinda, but if you take the time to look closer you realise they can actually be stunningly different. I took this series of images in the space of 20 minutes as I walked through one day with my girlfriend. I love how holding a camera changes the way you see the world around you. You seem to discover incredible beauty hidden amongst the most mundane things. It's always there, waiting to be found, sometimes it just makes you look harder for it :)
